Characteristics of Lidar

(1) High resolution

Lidar can achieve extremely high Angle, range and velocity resolution. Usually the angular resolution is not less than 0.1mard, which means that it can distinguish two targets 0.3m apart at a distance of 3km (which is impossible for microwave radar anyway), and can track multiple targets simultaneously; Range resolution up to 0.lm; The velocity resolution can reach within 10m/s. The high range and velocity resolution means that range-Doppler imaging can be used to obtain clear images of the target. High resolution is the most significant advantage of Lidar, and most of its applications are based on it.

(2) Good concealment and strong anti-active interference ability

Laser linear propagation, good directionality, very narrow beam, can only be received in its propagation path, so it is very difficult to intercept the enemy, and the laser radar transmitting system (transmitting telescope) aperture is small, narrow receiving area, intentional laser interference signal into the receiver probability is very low; In addition, unlike microwave radar, which is easily affected by electromagnetic waves widely existing in nature, there are not many signal sources that can interfere with lidar in nature. Therefore, Lidar has strong anti-active interference ability and is suitable for working in the increasingly complex and intense information warfare environment.

(3) Good low-altitude detection performance

Due to the influence of echoes of various ground objects, microwave radar has a certain area of blind area (undetectable area) at low altitude. But for lidar, only the irradiated target will produce reflection, there is no impact of ground object echo, so it can work at "zero height", low altitude detection performance is much stronger than microwave radar.

(4) small size and light weight
